E-Olive

"The goal of e-olive is to develop ICT tools, practices, and guidelines to be applied in the Mediterranean region, aiming at optimizing the production of olive oil products (and their by-products). The biggest challenge for this project is to bring together scientists from different fields of expertise, alongside olive oil producers, in order to effectively introduce emerging information and communication technologies into both the production process and the olive oil supply chain."

Olive-Observer

The OliveObserver app serves two purposes: presenting data from traps in graph format and allowing users to contribute to data collection. Users can answer predefined questions, upload photos, and submit reports with their location. The app is available on both iOS and Android platforms. The system uses an API to manage data, with traps directly communicating with the database. The database, designed specifically for the project, simplifies data association and powers the app with necessary queries. Data types include geographical, temporal, meteorological, and hardware/software. The app ensures privacy by collecting only necessary information, such as the user’s name, email, location, and photos, all of which are kept confidential.

Tilemachos Project

Project Telemachus

"Innovative Operational System for Seismic Risk Management in the Ionian Islands Region Funding Operational Program "Ionian Islands 2014-2020" Duration: 10/2017 – 12/2020 Total Budget: €1,209,991, CMODLab: €540,000 Objective Prevention and reduction of impacts from natural and anthropogenic hazards, ensuring resilience to disasters, and development of disaster management systems."

E-HORECA WANET

The purpose of this deliverable is to develop an integrated information system, the use and operation of which will contribute to optimizing the waste collection process for E-HORECA WANET. The use of the information system will enable the stakeholders involved in waste management to implement better management and collection policies, in line with the needs that arise. After a certain period of operation, the information system will become a management tool for the waste collection process in the Municipality of Central Corfu & Diapontian Islands.

Laertis Portait

Project LAERTIS

The LAERTIS project aims to develop an innovative operational system for managing natural risks in the Ionian Islands. By using geospatial, meteorological, and remote-sensing data, the system will enhance disaster preparedness and resilience. It focuses on preventing and mitigating the impacts of natural hazards such as floods, wildfires, and landslides, and will support local authorities in managing these risks effectively through early warning systems and real-time monitoring.

Project BEST

BEST Project - Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Transnational Project Biodiversity is essential for life on Earth, but it is under threat from exploitation, pollution, climate change, and invasive species. To address this, the European Commission’s Biodiversity Strategy 2020-2030 aims to reverse ecosystem degradation. The BEST project contributes to these goals by protecting natural and cultural heritage, restoring habitats, and involving local communities in cross-border activities through innovative, low-impact technologies. Target Groups: Public administrations, businesses, research institutes, universities, farmers, fishermen, environmentalists, small tourist agencies, and citizens. Expected Results: Cross-border map of high nature value farmlands (WEB GIS). Development of smart tools for biodiversity monitoring. Creation of eco-friendly parks offering “biodiversity tours.” Cross-border monitoring protocol for high-value agricultural areas. DNA archive of local botanical species. Expansion of protected areas. Public education with a focus on schools.

Project AETHER

The "Alliance for the Effective Transnational Handling of Environmental Resources – AETHER" project focuses on developing ICT infrastructure for biodiversity and civil protection. The project aims to create new methodologies and safe variability thresholds for effective environmental risk monitoring and management. It involves the adaptation of new protocols and strategies to address biodiversity loss and citizen protection threats. Key components include UAVs and sensor networks for real-time data collection to improve disaster emergency management, enhanced monitoring of large geographic areas, and improved coordination of operational resources. The project also includes the creation of the first FAB-LAB in the Ionian region to engage citizens in environmental management, promoting awareness and enabling citizens to design and use smart environmental monitoring technologies.
